Welcome to Nesiya's Online Application for the 2008 Kehillah Experience
Applicants are accepted to Nesiya on a rolling admissions basis. After your application and references have been received, and prior to acceptance, a Nesiya staff member may contact you to schedule a telephone interview. All letters of acceptance are contingent upon certification of good health, based on the medical form that is
mailed with acceptance letters. Please contact us (212-951-7128 or
info@nesiya.org) if you have any questions regarding the application process.
Completing your Application
Follow the link below to complete the basic application, which includes family contact information, personal information and the submission of 2 essays. Please download the application and review it before completing the online application. Upon completing the online application, you will receive an email confirmation. Please then mail a deposit of $200. If this fee presents a hardship, please contact the Nesiya office. Checks or money orders are payable to The Nesiya Institute. The Nesiya Institute does not accept credit cards. The deposit is refundable only: 1) in cases when the applicant is not accepted to the program; 2) in cases where the participant withdraws for security or health reasons, or 3) in cases where the participant is unable to participate in the program due to lack of sufficient funding. The deposit and all recommendations can be mailed to this address:
The Nesiya Institute

Optional submissions: Feel free to add any additional work or information about yourself. You may wish to send
creative work (photographs, slides or originals of art work), creative writing, or audio/video recordings. Please
include a brief explanation of the work. Mail all original artwork with a stamped envelope and it will be returned after
we review your materials. Please do not send us anything that cannot be replaced, in case it is damaged or lost.
Need and Merit-Based Financial Assistance: Nesiya provides various types of financial assistance, both need and merit based. Please go to the Financial Aid page for more information.
Letters of Recommendation:
Applicants are required to submit a total of three references: one parent reference and two letters of
recommendation from teachers, employers or advisors. Please obtain letters of recommendation from adults who
know you well, and have one or both parents fill out the Parent Reference Form. Reference forms can be downloaded at the end of the online application, and may be submitted to the Nesiya Institute via mail, fax, or e-mail.
Application Deadline:
The final application deadline is April 15, 2008. In
addition we have
two early application deadlines:
If your application is postmarked by February 4, 2008, you can qualify for a
$350 Early Application Fellowship.
If your application is postmarked by March 17, 2008, you can qualify for a $250 Early Application Fellowship.
A fellowship provides financial assistance that obligates recipients to fulfill work, study, or community service
activities after they return home from Israel. Students fulfill their fellowship obligations by performing a variety of
activities that build upon their experience in Israel. Activities may include participation in Jewish educational and
cultural programs, writing about Israel for local publications, planning and participating in local Nesiya events, or
other community service activities. If fellowship obligations are not completed in the agreed time period, parents
assume responsibility for repaying The Nesiya Institute.
*These discounts can be combined with applications for financial aid from Nesiya and other sources, but cannot be combined with any other "incentive
awards" that may be offered by The Nesiya Institute.
