Kehillah 2007 Updates

August 8th, 2007 - Important Return Flight Information

Dear Nesiya Parents and Friends,

It's hard to believe how quickly the summer has flown (at least for those of us having such fun here in Israel!), but Nesiya 2007 is drawing to a close. I want to remind you about the North American participants' travel plans for their return to the U.S. The group's flight, El Al #27, will depart Ben Gurion Airport on Monday, August 13 at 12:05 am local Israel time (late Sunday night). The flight is slated to arrive at Newark International Airport in NY at 4:40 a.m. on the same day, Monday morning, August 13.

Julie Lake will be traveling with the group from Tel Aviv to Newark. For those participants who have domestic flights departing from Newark, we have arranged for a Nesiya alumni parent to meet the group at Newark and to help facilitate as needed. Additionally, either Julie or the alumni parent will continue on the shuttle to LGA and JFK airports, accompanying those participants who are being picked up or have a flight from these airports. Julie's cell phone will be on from the time the group lands and you can reach her at 212-920-1697. I will email the name and cell number of the alumni parent on Sunday.

Meeting your child at Newark:

If you are meeting your child at Newark, please plan to be at the International Arrivals Hall in Terminal B (El Al Arrivals) by 6:00 a.m. The arrivals hall is on the lower level, opposite door 10. Although we can't say exactly how long it will take the group to get through passport control and baggage claim, we estimate it will take about an hour.

Information about the shuttle:

The arrival times below are approximate because we do not know exactly how long it will take the group to get off the plane and onto the bus, or how much traffic there will be on Monday morning. We appreciate your flexibility if the shuttle winds up running a bit ahead of or behind schedule.

LGA – For parents meeting your child at LGA airport, we anticipate that the shuttle will arrive there at approximately 7:15 a.m. Please plan to meet your child at the arrivals area of the Central Terminal Building, outside near the United section.

JFK – For parents meeting your child at JFK airport, the shuttle should arrive around 8:00 a.m.. Please plan to meet your child at Terminal 9, outside by the American Airlines departures.

If any of you have any further questions about the group's travel plans please do not hesitate to email us or to call the office. If there are any last minute changes in the flight schedule from Israel to Newark we will update you on Sunday night.

Finally, please note the following important information to help you in tracking the flight and your children: You can call 1-800-352-5747 for a recorded message about the El Al flight. The message will tell you when the flight is expected to arrive at Newark. You can also check El Al's website.

I am off to Ein Gedi now to enjoy your children's final projects, which they have been hard at work creating for the past few days. I look forward to updating you about the experience, and their final Shabbat, on Sunday.

Warmly,
Mollie
