Director of Development

The Nesiya Institute seeks a part or full-time development director who will supervise and implement fund-raising and related communications activities. The Nesiya Institute has offices in Jerusalem (near Old Katamon) and in New York City.

The successful candidate for this new position will join Nesiya's executive leadership, working closely with the Executive Director and COO/CFO, following a highly successful period of enhancement and growth in programming, management, and funding.

As Nesiya looks forward to marking it's 25th year of consecutive summer programs in Israel, the new Director will be part of the team researching and implementing a strategic plan for increasing charitable support for Nesiya’s programs.

The ideal candidate will combine excellent writing, management, and interpersonal skills, an understanding of best practices in non-profit management, creativity, flexibility, and dedication.

Additional preferred qualifications include some or all of the following:

prior relevant work experience

one or two degrees

ability to speak, write, and/or translate from Hebrew

The chief responsibilities for the position may combine some or all of the following:

sustaining a strategic plan for Nesiya's fund-raising and communications activities

developing activities, events, and communications projects which advance the agency's fund-raising results

grant writing, public relations writing, donor research, etc.

cultivating relationships with prospective and existing donors, both individuals and foundations

supervising the continued improvement and maintenance of Nesiya's database
